What a year it has been, especially for those working within policing during this global pandemic. With a 500% increase in referrals this year our Police Care UK welfare team have been kept extremely busy supporting all of those who have contacted us for their various needs. With Christmas approaching, we want to let you know our updated opening hours to make sure that everyone can get the help and support they need. Please see information below on our opening hours and how you can get in touch.

Our office remains open until midday on Thursday 24th December and then closes until Monday 4th January 2021. However, our welfare department will close earlier, on Monday 21st December  until we reopen on Monday 4th January 2021. During this time we will not be taking any new referrals.

Anyone already using our services can continue to do so with revised hours for our Confidential Careline. Any new service users are welcome to complete a referral but this will not be processed until we reopen in January. Please see information below for more detail and guidance on where you can access support in the interim.

New service users and referrals 

If you are a new contact and this is your first time speaking with us, or you have not done a complete referral previously to access any of our services than we will contact you in the New Year when we reopen as we will not be taking any new referrals between Monday 21st December and Monday 4th January 2021.

If you require any urgent support or assistance then we recommend using one of the below services. If you feel you need urgent support or there is any danger to life please call 999 and ask for emergency assistance.

Existing service users

If you are an existing service user and have a beneficiary number with us then you can continue to access our Confidential Careline over the Christmas period, and any arrangements made with counselling services will continue as arranged with yourself and your counsellor or therapist. The hours of the Careline will change slightly over the Christmas period and during bank holidays, and out of hours, will only offer in the moment support.

The Careline number is 0800 587 7395. This number will give access to in the moment support. Only those with a beneficiary number can access this service.
