Charity match for those ‘who are there when we need them.’

Dorset Nines Charity Football Match organisers say first hand experience of the realities of life working in the emergency services is why they wanted to give something back.

The Dorset Nines clash between South Western Ambulance Services and Dorset Police at Weymouth FC takes place on May 2 and aims to raise thousands for Police Care, Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance, South Western Ambulance Charity and Weldmar Hospicecare.

The event at the Bob Lucas Stadium will raise vital funds for those who are always there when we need them.

We’re two friends from the South Western Ambulance Service, based at Weymouth Ambulance Station. We wanted a fun way to raise money, bring the community together and support charities close to our hearts,” say organisers Jake and Chris.

Living and working in Weymouth, we’ve seen first-hand the difference these charities make – not just for the public, but for people working across the emergency services, too.

Every goal, pass and cheer on the day helps fund practical support for those affected by the realities of frontline work and, in the case of Police Care UK, provide specialist trauma therapy and financial assistance for those affected by harm experienced in their policing role.

Whether you’re playing, supporting or spreading the word, you can be part of it.

Every ticket sold is a donation to charity. £5 in advance or £7 on the day. Find out more at Dorset Nines.
