The Big Give 2026

From November to January Police Care UK has the chance to access funding from over 90,000 donors through The Big Give fundraising platform where each pledge of funding has the potential to be doubled, twice over!

The Big Give Christmas Challenge is the UK’s biggest collaborative fundraising campaign, championing a wide range of causes. Every donation has the power to be doubled, enabling us to make an even bigger difference.

 

To take part, a charity must secure a portion of their match funding pot from their pledges. We have set a target of £20,000 for the campaign. To meet the target, we need £5,000 in pledges, or at least £1,000. The minimum pledge per donor is £100.

 

Successful charities are awarded a sum of match funding, which is ring-fenced for their organisation.

 

How Double Match Funding Works

 

Your pledge goes further through the Big Give process:

  • Pledge £100
  • Big Give Champions match it → £200
  • Public donations during campaign week match again → £400 total

This means your contribution could quadruple in value.

 

Show Police You Care

We hope to raise a total of £20,000 in our 2026 “Show the police you care” campaign to provide 200 trauma therapy sessions, but to be entered Police Care UK needs to urgently secure a total of at least £1000 in pledges from our own network before the closing date of 28th August 2026 5pm. To help us:

1) Complete a short online pledge form
2) Commit to your pledge amount (each pledge must be a minimum of at least £100 Without these pledges we won’t get access to The Big Gives Champions and donors)
3) Make your donation after the campaign concludes in December. We'll send you a reminder before your payment is due.

  • 1st – 8th December 2026 12pm: A seven-day online match funding Christmas Campaign on The Big Give fundraising platform of 90,000 donors

The Big Give Christmas Challenge is the UK’s biggest matched funding campaign.

 

During one week in December, donations made to participating charities are increased with match funding provided by partners such as philanthropists, trusts, and foundations. It gives Police Care UK access to over 90,000 donors, where every donation can be doubled -sometimes even doubled twice – helping us make an even greater impact.

You can find full details of the Christmas Challenge, and how your pledge will enable us to be part of the UK’s largest Matched Funding Challenge, on theBigGive.org.uk.

Double match funding means your pledge helps unlock even more funding:

  • Pledge £100
  • Big Give Champions match it → £200
  • Public donations during campaign week unlock a further £200
  • Total raised for Police Care UK: £400

This means your support could generate four times the impact.

To take part in the campaign, we must first secure match funding from our own supporters.
We urgently need at least £1,000 (ideally £5,000) in pledges by 28 August 2026 (5pm) to unlock additional funding from Big Give Champions and the public.

Each pledge must be at least £100.

You do not pay anything upfront.

Pledges are only collected after the campaign ends, between:

  • 9 December 2026 – 15 January 2027

We’ll send you reminders before your pledge is due.

Our 2026 “Show the Police You Care” campaign aims to raise £20,000, which will fund 200 trauma therapy sessions for police officers and their families.

By pledging, you’re committing to provide match funding that will help double public donations during the campaign.
If we don’t secure enough pledges by the August deadline, we won’t be able to access Big Give Champion funding or take part fully in the campaign, meaning we could miss out on significant additional income.
