2026 marks a heritage year for Police Care UK as we celebrate 100 years of history. Whilst we have only been known as Police Care UK for seven years, the history of this organisation stretches back to December 1926 when the National Police Fund was established, following the May General Strike and significant police response to keep communities safe.

The charity we see today was founded upon public support and donations, which keep us running today. Independent of government and police forces, our vital work supporting those who have experienced harm in UK policing is delivered entirely from donations. Wearing your badge will help raise our profile and ensure we can continue to be here for the next 100 years.
