Family time Fund

The impact of policing doesn’t stop at the end of a shift. Injury, trauma, and long-term harm can place real strain on relationships and family life, often reducing opportunities for rest, connection, and time together.

The purpose of the fund

Our Family Time fund exists to help police families rebuild connection, reduce pressure and spend meaningful time together through funded respite, activities or short breaks, particularly where this wouldn’t otherwise be possible. (‘Families’ are immediate family members who are or was financially dependent on the injured serving or veteran member of the police community).

Who this fund is for:

You may be able to apply for a grant from this fund if you are:

  • An immediate adult family member of a registered serving (anyone currently working or volunteering in UK policing, including police officers, staff and volunteers) or veteran member (anyone who has previously worked or volunteered in policing, regardless of how or when they left the service, including those who left due to injury or ill health) of the police community, (including those killed on duty), or
  • A registered serving or veteran member of the police community applying on behalf of their family

In all cases, the application must relate to harm caused by a policing role that is registered with us.

The grant allowed us to take a much-needed break as a family — something we simply couldn’t have done otherwise. Police Care stepped in when we needed it most.
