Financial Assistance

Our grants programmes have been a core element of our provision of support for almost one hundred years. While there has been a shift in more mental health support-based needs in the last five years, financial concerns are still prevalent for those coming to us for help.

We offer a range of financial assistance grants to support those recovering from the impact of harm experienced through a policing role.

Who can get help?

Our financial support is available to those experiencing physical or/and psychological harm caused by policing role.

Applicants can be serving officers, staff and volunteers, as well as veterans, and family members of serving and veteran personnel.

How to get help

Before you access financial support from Police Care UK it is helpful to read our eligibility criteria and know what financial assistance you require. You will also need to have any relevant information ready before starting your application. This will reduce any delay and ensure your enquiry can be dealt with appropriately.

There are three steps to our financial assistance grants programme:

You can access financial support by completing our online referral form in our Get Help page.

We accept individual referrals and referrals on behalf of someone, although in the case of the latter you must have consent to do this. We will contact the individual directly and you will not be notified of any progress on their case.
