Life in policing can expose you to events that are difficult to process, incidents that stay with you long after the shift ends.
We offer Narrative Exposure Therapy, or NET, as a type of support to help you work through those experiences safely.
NET gives you the chance to tell your story in a structured, supportive way. With a trained therapist, you’ll go through your life chronologically, including both the positive experiences and the times that have been particularly traumatic or stressful. The goal isn’t to relive the trauma, but to place it within the context of your full life story so it makes sense and stops overwhelming you.
Through this process, you can begin to process strong emotions, thoughts, and physical reactions linked to those events. Over time, NET can help reduce intrusive memories, anxiety, or the way past experiences continue to affect your day-to-day life.
Sessions are guided by your pace and comfort. Your therapist is trained to listen without judgment, understand the pressures of policing, and provide a safe, confidential space where you can explore your experiences.
NET helps you take control of your story, making your experiences part of your life rather than letting them dominate it. It’s about helping you feel more grounded, more in control, and better able to move forward.
