Scope
This policy applies to all beneficiaries of Police Care UK and covers any interaction whether in person, online, or via other communication channels with our staff, volunteers, or other beneficiaries. Prohibited behaviours include, but are not limited to:
- Harassment: Any unwelcome verbal, physical, or non-verbal conduct that creates a hostile, intimidating, or offensive environment.
- Discrimination: Unfair or biased behaviour based on race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, religion, or other protected characteristics.
- Abusive Language or Behaviour: Any form of verbal abuse, threats, or physical aggression towards staff, volunteers, or other beneficiaries.
- Violence or Threatening Behaviour: Any act or threat of violence that puts the safety and well-being of others at risk.
- Misuse of Services: Using our services in a way that is abusive or undermines the intended purpose and spirit of the support provided by Police Care UK.
Policy Statement
Police Care UK is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries. We have a zero-tolerance approach towards any form of inappropriate behaviour from our beneficiaries or anyone engaging with the charity towards our staff, volunteers, or other beneficiaries. Our goal is to ensure that everyone associated with Police Care UK can interact in an atmosphere of mutual respect, dignity, and professionalism.
Beneficiaries are those eligible and/or receive support as a result of Police Care UK activities or outputs. The potential beneficiary cohorts of “police officer” and “dependents” as articulated in the charity’s Articles of Association, includes serving and retired police officers, staff, policing volunteers and dependents.
Expectations
All beneficiaries must always interact with our staff, volunteers, and other beneficiaries in a respectful and courteous manner.
Beneficiaries are expected to adhere to this policy during their interactions with Police Care UK, whether through phone calls, emails, in-person meetings, or other forms of communication.
Consequences
Any behaviour from beneficiaries that violates this policy will result in immediate action, which may include the suspension or termination of services provided by Police Care UK.
Serious violations, including threats or acts of violence, may be reported to police authorities where appropriate.
Police Care UK reserves the right to refuse services to any individual who engages in conduct that is contrary to this policy.
Reporting
If you experience or witness any behaviour that violates this policy, please report it immediately to a designated member of the management team. All reports will be treated with confidentiality and investigated thoroug
Right to Complain
You have the right to make a complaint about any aspect of Police Care UK. Complaints should be submitted in writing to the Chief Executive Officer.
